As per our sources, the biggest licensed operator of cryptocurrency exchange – HashKey, has launched a new global trading platform intending to overtake global crypto exchanges like Coinbase in the coming 5 years.
This development comes as a result of strict regulatory measures that were faced by the Hong Kong Hashkey Exchange for offering crypto derivative products to customers.

All About Hashkey & Crypto Coinbase Bermuda License
- The company was established in Hong Kong in 2018 and at present is being operated by the local Hong Kong Hashkey Exchange.
- Hashkey Global operates with a Digital Asset Business License issued in Bermuda.
- At present, Hashkey has more than 170,000 registered users. However, as per Weng Xiaoqi, there is an estimated fourfold potential customer base that doesn’t meet the existing requirements Hence, to tap into this untapped potential, HashKey established the HashKey Global platform, which facilitates direct trading with stable currencies like USDT and USDC.
- In his recent interview, Weng Xiaoqi, Chief Operating Officer of HashKey Group, revealed the acquisition of Bermuda’s “comprehensive digital asset investor protection system license” and the imminent launch of the Hashkey Global trading platform.
- This platform will offer over 20 currencies to eligible retail investors.
Hashkey Vs Coinbase & Global Exchanges

As per the bold statement of Hashkey, it aims to overtake Coinbase within the next coming 5 years, that is, by 2029. Interestingly, it does not view non-compliant exchanges like Bitcoin and Huobi as direct competitors.
In a bold statement, Weng said that, “We have seen their data and we don’t think that’ll be difficult.”
Now, what’s left to be seen is what the future holds!
